HC Deb 23 June 1977 vol 933 cc544-5W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Attorney-General whether he remains of the opinion that the letter circulated by Mr. Peter MacBryan to Members of Parliament constitutes a criminal libel.

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Attorney-General whether he is aware that a circular letter sent to Members of Parliament by Mr. Peter MacBryan of the Invalid Tricycle Action Group has been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions; and whether he will prosecute Mr. MacBryan for criminal libel.

The Attorney-General

I have never formed this opinion, and the Director of Public Prosecutions tells me that none of the documents which he has considered warranted proceedings for criminal libel.
