Following are the estimated numbers of families normally in full-time employment, part-time employment or self-employed in December 1975:
Head of family One-parent families Thousands Two-parent families Employed full-time … 260 5,710 Employed part-time … 80 50 Self-employed … 40 670 These estimates are based on an analysis by the Department of Health and Social Security of the information recorded in the Family Expenditure Survey and are subject to sampling error. "Normally" means both those in work on the date of the survey interview and those who had been away from work for less than three months on that date.
