asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has concluded his talks about the port sugar refining industry; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend has had meetings, in some cases several meetings, with the parties involved in the rationalisation of this industry. Some further discussions will be necessary, but.

I regret that the information given to my hon. Friend on 11th May—[Vol. 931, c. 517–518]—is in need of revision. The following is the revised information together with equivalent figures for early June.

EEC common import levies and accession compensatory amounts are expressed in sterling after conversion at the representative rate. When converted to sterling at the current market rate of exchange used for the purposes of monetary com pensatory amounts (£1=1.27402 ua) the levies and ACAs at 9th May 1977 and 13th June 1977 for the items requested are as follows. United Kingdom MCAs are fixed in sterling and those shown below were in operation on the same date.
