HC Deb 21 June 1977 vol 933 cc462-3W
Mr. Adley

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in view of the restrictions on the importation of planting material, he will now consider imposing restrictions on the importation of pots of chrysanthemums and cut flowers, in view of the threat which these items pose through the importation of diseased plants.

Mr. Bishop

Imported pot chrysanthemums are already subject to the same health restrictions as chrysanthemum planting material. Cut chrysanthemum flowers, however, do not pose a com parable risk as imports would not normally go to nurseries in this country.
