HC Deb 21 June 1977 vol 933 c451W
65. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will give the number of occasions that the hon. Member for Newham, North-West has written, telephoned, and asked him personally to see that in his correspondence with the hon. Member he includes the name and address of the constituent or complainant; why he refuses, declines, or fails to do this; and whether he will take action to do this in the future.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

Although there is no record of how often, I acknowledge that my hon. Friend has explained his requirements. As I hope he will in turn acknowledge, it is only in a small number of cases that the address of the constituent or complainant has by oversight been omitted. My staff will try to ensure this does not recur.
