HC Deb 17 June 1977 vol 933 c301W
Mr. Pattie

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make regulations under Section 17(l)(a) of the Costs in Criminal Cases Act 1973 prescribing the rates or scales of payments of costs which may be allowed out of central funds, including in particular the fees allowable for counsel or solicitor or his managing clerk in connection with their preparation of a case or their attendance at court.

Mr. John

No. My right hon. Friend prefers to leave these fees to be determined by the taxing authority concerned, in relation to the facts of the particular case.
