HC Deb 15 June 1977 vol 933 c204W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) what is the number of Royal Ulster Constabulary officers and men stationed in the Rose-mount Royal Ulster Constabulary Station, Londonderry; how many police patrols have been carried out from this station since 1st January 1977; how many members of the public have called at the station in the same period for police assistance; and what is the approximate population served by this station;

(2) what is the number of Royal Ulster Constabulary officers and men stationed in the Waterside Royal Ulster Constabulary Station, Londonderry; how many police patrols have been carried out from this station since 1st January 1977; how many members of the public have called at the station for police assistance in the same period; and what is the approximate population served by this station.

Mr. Dunn

For obvious security reasons I am not prepared to disclose the number of police officers stationed at particular RUC stations or the number of patrols carried out. No records are kept of the total number of persons who call at police stations seeking assistance. The approximate populations served by the Rosemount and Waterside RUC stations are 50,000 and 25,000 respectively.
