Mr. Skinner

asked the Lord President of the Council whether any official assistance is given to the bicycle pool scheme in the House.

Mr. Foot

This scheme was approved following recommendations of the Services Committee of 22nd March and 17th May. No expenditure has been incurred by the House. The only official assistance given to the scheme is the reservation of space for the bicycles and the installation by the Department of the Environment of the racks which were provided by the organisers of the scheme.
