HC Deb 28 July 1977 vol 936 c621W
Mr. Corbett

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what part of a pension paid by the Austrian Government to former nationals now resident in the United Kingdom as victims of Nazi persecution is exempted from tax; when this level of exemption was set; and whether he has any plans to raise the exemption limit.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

One half of the pension is exempt from United Kingdom tax, and has been since 1974. I have no plans for increasing the amount exempted.
