§ Mr. Canavanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he can now make a statement about the composition of the consultative body of anglers to be set up under the Freshwater and Salmon Fisheries (Scotland) Act 1976.
§ Mr. MillanThe 1976 Act provides that I should consult a representative body of anglers before I decide to make a protection order under the Act. For this purpose I have set up a body composed of 10 members, including the chairman, familiar with angling facilities and conditions throughout Scotland and supplemented by a panel of 26 persons drawn from the local government regions. Before deciding whether to make an order I propose to consult the main body together with those members of the supplementary panel representing the area to which the proposed order relates
