Mr. David Price

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to publish his White Paper setting out the Government's proposals for amendment to the Mental Health Act 1959; and when he intends to introduce the necessary amending legislation.

We hope to publish a White Paper later this year with a view to amending legislation as soon as possible thereafter.
