HC Deb 27 July 1977 vol 936 c290W
Mr. Patrick Jenkin

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on progress in bringing National Health Service hospitals into line with the Fire Precautions Act 1971.

Mr. Ennals

My Department, the Welsh Office and the Home Office are, together with a number of health authorities and fire authorities, co-operating in a survey of fire precautions in National Health Service hospitals in England and Wales. This survey is designed to indicate the likely cost and appropriate priority of additional fire precautions measures which health authorities may be required to undertake in order to bring hospitals into line with the Fire Precautions Act 1971.
