HC Deb 21 July 1977 vol 935 cc695-6W
17. Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what progress has been made with the Richmond Street development scheme in Londonderry, following the Government's announcement.

Mr. Carter

This scheme provides for some 40,000 sq. ft. of office accommodation together with up to 100,000 sq. ft. of shopping space. There are already tenants in prospect for the whole of the office space, and my officials are currently in the process of securing the services of property agents whose initial task will be to stimulate and access letting demand for the shopping space. I am anxious that this exercise should be carried out as quickly as possible, and am hopeful that the degree of interest will justify the invitation of tenders for the project as a whole.
