HC Deb 21 July 1977 vol 935 cc672-3W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many elderly people in Grimsby are currently in Part III accommodation; and how many people are known to be awaiting such accommodation;

(2) how many Part III beds are currently available in the Grimsby authority area; and how many more are planned.

Mr. Moyle

There are 484 Part III places available to the Grimsby division of Humberside County Council's social services department, of which about 450 are taken up by people aged 65 and over. Some 165 people are understood to be awaiting admission. No old people's home is planned for the Grimsby division in the current financial year.
