§ Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will now issue a circular to local authorities, inviting them to initiate transport experiments in their areas, in accordance with the provisions of the Passenger Vehicles (Experimental Areas) Bill.
§ Mr. HoramMy right hon. Friend has it in mind, once the Passenger Vehicles (Experimental Areas) Bill has been enacted, to issue a circular of guidance to local authorities. As well as explaining the provisions of the measure, this would make clear his readiness, as explained during proceedings on the Bill, to use his powers to facilitate appropriately prepared experiments which will complement the work at present being done under the Government-sponsored programme.
