§ Mr. Hugh Jenkinsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how co-productions between British television companies and foreign organisations are classified for purposes of Section 4(1)(c) of the Independent Broadcasting Authority Act 1973
(2) if he is satisfied with the operation of Section 4(1)(c) of the Independent Broadcasting Authority Act 1973.
§ Mr. JohnUnder the Act, it is the duty of the Independent Broadcasting Authority to satisfy itself so far as possible that the programmes it broadcasts comply with the requirement that proper proportions of recorded and other matter included in its programmes are of British origin and performance. As regards co-productions, the Independent Broadcasting Authority classifies such productions in the light of detailed information which it calls for from programme companies about the British and non-British involvement in such productions.
