Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the total number of redundancy payments made in each quarterly period since the inception of the scheme; and what was the total sum involved in each such period.

The table below relates to employees in respect of whom payments, including rebates to employers and direct payments, were made from the Redundancy Fund during the periods shown. Amounts are given to the nearest £1,000. Separate figures are not available for the first two quarters of 1966. The Redundancy Payments Act 1965 was effective from 6th December 1965.
