During the year 1976 a total of 114 cases of unlawfully leaving motor vehicles unattended in the control zones in the Belfast area were reported to the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland. Of these, directions to prosecute were given in 113 cases and a direction not to prosecute was given in one case.
