HC Deb 25 February 1977 vol 926 cc718-9W
Mrs. Chalker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish a statement in the Official Report of the housing and living conditions which allow the issue of a communal television licence, where there are a number of sets separately owned by pensioners in sheltered accommodation.

Mr. John

The Old Persons Home television licence authorises the use of a television set in his or her own room by a retired person of pensionable age —or by a relative of such a person living with him or her—who lives in an old persons' home as defined in Regulation 2 of the Wireless Telegraphy (Broadcast Licence Charges and Exemption) Regulations 1970. (S.I. 1970, No. 548).
