HC Deb 25 February 1977 vol 926 c719W
Mr. Gow

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in how many cases he has rejected the recommendations of the Parole Board that a person convicted of a terrorist offence should be released from prison on licence.

Mr. John

The Secretary of State has rejected recommendations on two occasions where the Parole Board recommended release for prisoners who had committed what are normally described as "terrorist" offences. There is no such category in our law, however.
