§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what reply he has sent to the complaint of the Church of Ireland clergy of the Rural Deaneries of Kilrea and Maghera expressed at a special meeting with their Bishop, the Right Rev. Dr. Robert Eames, in Londonderry on 1st February 1977 that the present local structure under which the security forces operated was inadequate to assure the law abiding that everything possible was being done to protect their lives and property; and, secondly, to the request made by the Bishop of Down and Dromore, Dr. George Quin, that a stronger line be taken against the Provisional IRA.
§ Mr. MasonNo communication from either of these sources has been received by the Northern Ireland Office. I have noted the statements referred to.
