HC Deb 23 February 1977 vol 926 cc602-3W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will assess the product breakdown of a barrel of crude oil from the following fields: (a) Piper, (b) Forties and (c) Ekofisk; and if he will compare the yields with those from Iran Heavy 31° API, Saudi Arabian Heavy 27° API and Light 34°

Dr. J. Dickson Mabon

Product yields will depend on the refining processes used. Approximate yields from basic distillation, net of fuel and loss, would be:

of fuel bills whose means of heating is by gas; and if he will make a statement as to why he differentiates between gas and electric users.

Dr. John A. Cunningham

We confined financial assistance this winter to electricity bills because almost everyone uses this fuel, and we thought it right to concentrate help in the area where it would be most effective. The recently published code of practice on payment of bills is, however, applicable equally to gas and to electricity consumers, as are social security benefits and heating addition payments where appropriate.
