HL Deb 23 February 1977 vol 380 cc357-8WA
Lord VAIZEY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a Statement on the proposals on pensions entitlement for the chairmen and board members of the nationalised industries, whose salary has been frozen under the pay restraint policy, whereby they will be allowed to choose their single best salary year and update this by the rate of inflation since that year, and whether Her Majesty's Government will estimate the likely cost of this agreement.

The LORD PRIVY SEAL (Lord Peart)

The pension arrangements of board appointees are determined on an individual basis and I am not aware of any special agreement such as is suggested in the Question.

House adjourned at twenty-one minutes before midnight.
