HC Deb 18 February 1977 vol 926 c392W
Dr. Reginald Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the latest figures for those unemployed in Fareham; and what are their categories in length of term of unemployment, physical category and area of domicile.

Mr. Golding

The following table shows the numbers of people registered as unemployed at 13th January in the Fareham employment office area, analysed by sex and by length of time unemployed. The unemployment statistics are not analysed specifically by area of domicile, but most unemployed people register at the employment office nearest to their homes. Analyses of the total number unemployed according to physical category are not made. However, of the total of 1,629, 74 were registered disabled persons. Excluded from this analysis are seven severely disabled registrants who are only considered capable of employment under sheltered conditions.
