HC Deb 14 February 1977 vol 926 c66W
Mr. Macfarlane

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list Government land in the London borough of Sutton which is surplus to any Government Department requirements; and if he will indicate whether any such land has been offered to the Greater London Council.

Mr. Marks

The only land surplus to Government requirements is situated at the Belmont and Henderson Hospital site at Sutton. Our Department is responsible for certain administrative functions for the disposal of surplus Government property, and while land at the hospital has been allocated for local authority requirements the actual offer is a matter for the owning Department.

Mr. Macfarlane

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether his Department has taken any land not required by the Department of Health and Social Services at the Belmont and Henderson Hospital site in the London borough of Sutton; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Marks

No land has been taken by our Department, but following normal administrative procedures for the disposal of surplus Government property which are operated by our Department, land at the Belmont and Henderson Hospital has been allocated for local authority requirements.
