Mr. John Moore

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, (1) if he will provide in the Official Report a breakdown of the £30,000 annual cost under Class XIV Vote 1 expected to be incurred by the new Government Press Centre;

(2) further to his reply, Official Report. 8th February, column 601, whether his Department took the decision in August 1975 to develop the new Government Press Centre; what were the then anticipated annual running costs of the centre expected to be when completed; and what was the anticipated capital cost of developing the centre;

(3) under what parliamentary Vote the £830,000 spent on developing the new Government Press Centre was authorised; what was the amount originally estimated; and if he will give a further breakdown of the £348,000 spent on engineering services;

(4) at the expiry of the seven-year lease of the Government Press Centre, whether he anticipates any recouping of the £830,000 spent on capital and equipment costs.
