Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if, following the experience of the Seven Seas Organisation, he will seek powers to register all furniture removers, and to make obligatory by law the insuring of clients, property and furniture whether in store or transit against the consequences of bankruptcy or liquidation.
§ Mr. John FraserMy Department is considering with the main trade association for the removals industry the possibility that its members might take out bonds to protect their clients against financial loss. Meanwhile, I would advise all concerned to ensure that they deal only with furniture removers known to be reputable and financially sound.
