§ 22. Mr. Ernest G. Perryasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will seek to extend the arrangement due to end on 31st December 1977 under which the Safeguarding of Employment Act (NI) 1947 has continued to operate by agreement with the European Community.
§ Mr. ConcannonIn the light of the views obtained from the two sides of industry in Northern Ireland it is the Government's intention not to seek an extension of the provisions of Article 133 of the Treaty of Accession and to repeal the Safeguarding of Employment Act (Northern Ireland) 1947.
