asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many applications by wives and children for settlement have been processed at each post in the subcontinent for each quarter of the last three years; and with what results.

Numbers of the applications processed are given in the following tables. Precise and comparable figures are not available because the methods of recording applications have varied from time to time and from post to post.
