Children of non-United Kingdom parents normally resident in this country are subject to the usual requirements of the Education Acts. Individual local education authorities may, at their discretion admit to school any child from overseas temporarily resident in their area and no records are kept to indicate how many children of non-United Kingdom citizens will, at any one time, be in maintained schools.
