§ Mr. Michael McGuireasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give details about the numbers of old workmen's compensation cases who currently receive or are entitled to receive, weekly payments of compensation, or who would be so entitled but for the fact that they settled their claims for a lump sum payment; what was the total amount received, from all sources by those who, if they came within the present Industrial Injuries Act, would be assessed as (a) 100 per cent. disabled and needing constant attendance, (b) 100 per cent. disabled and (c) 50 per cent. disabled; and how these payments compare with the payments received by those injured since 5th July 1948, assuming the same degree of disability as given above, and also assuming a claim to the special hardship allowance for those who are 50 per cent. disabled and that a claim in each case is made for a dependent wife.
