§ Mr. Newensasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the new towns for which schemes providing for the transfer of housing assets to local authorities have now been approved; and if he will indicate any new towns in which it has not been possible up to the present to reach agreement on this issue, despite an original proposal.
§ Mr. Guy BarnettSchemes which will come into effect on 1st April 1978 have been approved for:
- Crawley
- Hemel Hempstead
- Hatfield
- Welwyn Garden City
- Corby
- Bracknell
- Harlow
- Stevenage
- Peterlee
- Aycliffe
The proposed scheme for Basildon will not now proceed on 1st April 1978.
