HC Deb 15 December 1977 vol 941 c378W
Mr. David Young

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if he will refer to the Price Commission the practice of pricing petrol in decimals of pence per gallon as being against consumer interests; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maclennan

My right hon. Friend is watching carefully the operation of the Petrol Prices (Display) Order 1977, including the question of pricing in decimals of a penny. I do not think it is necessary to refer the question to the Price Commission, but I would welcome any representations which my hon. Friend may care to make.
