§ Mr. Kilfedderasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what plans he has for the financial reorganisation of the Housing Executive; and what is the present position with regard to the report of the Department of the Civil Service on the organisation of the Housing Executive.
§ Mr. CarterThe Housing Finance (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 which came into operation on 1st April 1977 introduced a new system of financing the work of the Housing Executive. The Northern Ireland Department of the Environment's controls over the work of the Housing Executive are kept under continuous review. With the Department's approval and encouragement, the Executive is strengthening its internal audit staff and procedures. I gave the present position about the Department of the Civil Service's review of the Executive's organisation in reply to questions by the hon. Member on 5th December 1977.—[Vol. 940,c. 576.]
