§ Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many mass X-ray units are employed in the West Midlands; how many factories are visited; how many workpeople X-rayed; and if there is any intention of increasing the number of such visits.
§ Mr. MoyleSix, of which three are mobile. In 1976 75 factories were visited and 19,043 workers X-rayed. In accordance with national policy, units do not visit factories indiscriminately but respond to requests where there is felt to be a particular health hazard. It is therefore not possible to say whether this number of visits will be increased in future years.
