§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, using the same model as employed in Command Paper No. 2764, "The National Plan", he will calculate unemployment levels in 1984, given a 25 per cent. increase in national output between 1978 and 1984 in the United Kingdom economy.
§ Mr. Denzil DaviesThe methodology used in 1965 for the National Plan is not now relevant to the period 1978–1984, during which the problems confronting the economy are likely to be in many respects different from those in the earlier period. The expense of such an exercise would not be justified.
