HC Deb 09 December 1977 vol 940 c945W
Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement about the present financial position of the National Film Development Fund.

Mr. Meacher

The two amounts of £200,000 envisaged as being available for the first two years of the scheme have, as a result of the large number of suitable projects which have come forward, already largely been committed. In view of this, I have accepted a recommendation of the Cinematograph Films Council that a further sum of £120,000 be made available from the British Film Fund to enable the scheme to continue to the end of its two year experimental period ending July 1978.
