Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will publish in the Official Report full details of the agreement reached with Hong Kong under the renegotiation of the Multi-Fibre Arrangement.

Mr. Meacher

The EEC Council will be considering on 20th December the outcome of the European Commission's negotiations with Hong Kong. The text o' the final agreement will be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities which is available in the Library of the House.

Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Trade when he hopes to reach agreement with India, South Korea, Brazil, and Taiwan on the level of textile quotas under the renegotiation of the Multi-Fibre Arrangement.

Mr. Meacher

The outcome of the negotiations between the European Commission and India, South Korea and Brazil will be considered by the Council of Ministers on 20th December. Autonomous measures will be taken against Taiwan.
