§ Mr. Weitzmanasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when it is intended to bring into force the provision raising the maximum sum to £1,000 for offences under Schedule 3 to the Criminal Law Act 1977, as prescribed in Section 28 of that Act.
§ Mr. JohnSection 28(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977 will be brought into force with Sections 14–26—which specify the new procedures relating to the mode of trial of offences triable either way—in the spring of next year when the necessary rules of court have been made.
