§ Mrs. Wiseasked the Secretary of State for Energy who is now responsible for dealing with emergencies and accidents involving gas escapes, which would normally be dealt with by firemen, during the firemen's strike.
§ Mr. EadieReported gas leaks are dealt with by British Gas and are nit affected by the firemen's strike. Assistance at other incidents involving fire and explosions, whether due to gas or any other cause, is being provided by the fire authorities under the emergency arrangements which were referred to by my right hon.
