§ Dr. John CunninghamThere are no current plans to provide general assistance for this purpose. Other more cost-effective fuel-saving steps are open to most 297W consumers and have prior claim on resources. The Government are at present considering the Third Report from the Select Committee on which the hon. Member sits, including the specific scheme there suggested for financial assistance towards the cost of installing approved solar water heating apparatus, conditional inter alia on prior insulation by the consumer.
