HC Deb 26 April 1977 vol 930 cc303-4W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is his policy towards the proposals made by British Airways at the International Civil Aviation Organisation conference on fares and rates; and what steps he will take to improve the conference system.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I am not at present aware of any proposals made by British Airways at the Special Air Transport Conference of the ICAO at Montreal. When the United Kingdom delegation returns to London I shall consider the conference recommendations.

Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he is satisfied with the machinery for enforcement of airline tariffs and with the punishment for violation thereof; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I consider that the machinery for the enforcement of airline tariffs works reasonably well and that the penalties and sanctions available are effective in dealing with violations.
