HC Deb 25 April 1977 vol 930 c203W
Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in view of the Annan Committee's recommendations, he will review the position concerning concessionary television licences for the elderly and chronically sick, and for old people's homes and sheltered housing with communal facilities, as well as the possibility of allowing retired persons to obtain a concessionary television licence.

Mr. John

Yes. The Government will be considering the whole question of licence concessions in the light of the Annan Committee's recommendations that no further concessions be introduced and that the concessionary licence available to residents in some old people's homes should be phased out.
