HC Deb 21 April 1977 vol 930 c137W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what percentage of North Sea crude oil is being refined in the United Kingdom and what portion of the barrel is attributable to light distillates.

Dr. J. Dickson Mabon

About two-thirds of North Sea production has been disposed of for refining in the United Kingdom in recent months. In basic distillation, net of fuel and loss, Forties crude oil yields about 20 per cent. of light distillate. Some variation can be expected for other United Kingdom Continental Shelf fields.
