asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can now announce the membership of the Commission for Racial Equality to be set up under the Race Relations Act 1976.

Mr. Frank Cummins: Headmaster of Thomas Telford School, Sandwell, West Midlands. Mr. Tom Jackson: General Secretary, Union of Post Office Workers. Mrs. Anowara Jahan: Liaison Officer, Asian Centre, Finsbury Park. Mr. Courtney A. Laws: Director of Brixton Neighbourhood Community Association. Mr. William Morris: District Secretary, Transport and General Workers' Union, Northampton. Mr. Robert J. Ramsey CBE: Director of Industrrial Relations, Ford Motor Company. Miss Gwenneth M. Rickus: Director of Education, London Borough of Brent. Dr. Preetam Singh QC: Barrister. Mr. Alan N. Wilson: Group Personnel Director, Tootal Ltd.

The commission will consist of 15 members. As already announced, Mr. David Lane will be the chairman and Mr. Clifton Robinson OBE, Mr. Bashir Maan and Mr. Pranlal Sheth deputy chairmen. A further appointment will be announced in due course.
