§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish lists of the approximate number of prisoners, prison officers and their dependent relatives whom he expects to be resident in the vicinity of Highpoint Prison, Stradishall, Suffolk, in each of the next five years.
§ Mr. JohnThe estimated numbers of prisoners and staff, including staff who will be living at Haverhill, are as follows. It is not possible to forecast the numbers of staff relatives at this stage.

§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department approximately how much he expects to contribute in rates to Suffolk County Council and St. Edmundsbury District 40W Council in respect of the Highpoint Prison, Stradishall, in each of the next five years.
§ Mr. JohnGovernment Departments are not, in law, liable for rates, but, in accordance with established practice, appropriate payments in lieu will be made to the rating authority as the various buildings in the prison and adjacent detention centre are brought into use. The amount for 1977–78 is currently under consideration and we will write to the hon. Member when it has been determined.
