HL Deb 28 September 1976 vol 374 cc387-8WA
Earl FERRERS

asked Her Majesty's Government:

To list, against each of the bodies mentioned in Clause 6 of the Rent (Agriculture) Bill, the number of dwellinghouses which will be covered by that clause.

The PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY of STATE, DEPARTMENT of the ENVIRONMENT (Baroness Birk)

I understand that the approximate numbers of dwellinghouses which the bodies mentioned in subsection (1) of Clause 6 of the Rent (Agriculture) Bill have for housing agricultural workers in their employ are as set out in the table below. I cannot say how many of these are occupied by persons who would be covered by the Bill but for Clause 6, since this will depend on individual circumstances.

Body Number of Dwellinghouses (approx.)
The Crown Estate 94
The Duchy of Lancaster 14
The Duchy of Cornwall 13
Government Departments 1,450
Figures for the bodies mentioned in subsections (3) and (4) of Clause 6 are not available.
