§ Mr. JohnSixteen in 1966–67 under the Race Relations Act 1965; 88 on 18th October 1976 under the Race Relations Act 1968.

§ Mr. JohnOnly civil remedies were provided for unlawful discrimination by the Race Relations Acts 1965 and 1968. I am informed that before its reconstitution on 25th November 1968 the Board and its conciliation committees received 1,478 complains, none of which resulted in civil proceedings. Between that date and 30th September 1976, 8,446 cases had been registered by the Board and 45 of these resulted in civil proceedings.
