§ Mr. Powellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether Qasim Jan alias Akbar Jan, due to be deported on 30th September from Her Majesty's Prison, Winson Green, has left the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesThis man's removal, which is not as a deportee but as a seaman deserter, was deferred while I considered representations by an hon. Member. I have done so and new arrangements for Mr. Jan's removal are being made.
