Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland by what percentage the average number of convictions for murder, attempted murder and serious assault, respectively, in the five most recent years for which figures are available, exceed the average figures for the five years ended 1963, which was the year before the introduction of the Bill to abolish capital punishment.

The percentage increases are 585, 1,500 and 64 respectively.
